Board Members

Robert Atkinson of Scarborough is a member of the Bahai Faith, a
professor at the University of Southern Maine teaching human development,
culture and diversity, and religious studies courses, the director of the
Center for the Study of Lives at USM, and the author of numerous books.

Cynthia Jane Collins holds a Masters of Divinity from Christian Theological
Seminary, a Masters of Science in Counseling from the University of Evansville,
and is a Clinical Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family
Therapy. She is the Assistant Chair of the Pastoral Care and Counseling Department
of Cherry Hill Seminary, Associate Chaplain (Pagan) at the University of
Southern Maine, and Chair of the Licensure, Ordination and Recognition
Committee of Maine Pagan Clergy Association. She is a Founding Elder of Silver
Cauldron (Covenstead 1994), and a member of Interfaith Maine's Board since
2002.

Peggy Wolfe Dunn of Bowdoinham is ordained in the United Church of Christ
and serves the Gardiner Congregational Church United Church of Christ. Active
with Contemplative Outreach, she maintains a Centering Prayer practice. She has
a longstanding interest in building ecumenical and interfaith relationships.
She has been on the Board of Interfaith Maine since 2006.

Andrea Thompson McCall of South Portland is a
member and ordained Minister in the United Church of Christ. She serves as
Interfaith Chaplain and Director of Community Service and Civic Engagement at
the University of Southern Maine.

Jonathan Reitman (Chair) of Brunswick is an attorney,
mediator and facilitator. He has served as Chair of the Adult Education
Committee at Bet Haam, a Reform Jewish congregation in South Portland. He
has trained people on mediation and conflict management in Bosnia, England, and
Italy. For the past seven summers he has taught Negotiation, Mediation and
Conflict Management to Israelis and Palestinians in Israel and the West Bank.

Denise Tepler is a PhD student at Muskie School of Public Service at USM
specializing in education policy. She also currently works as a program
evaluation researcher. Previously, she taught courses in anthropology at USM
and UMA off-campus centers. She is an active congregant at Beth Israel in Bath,
Maine. She has been involved with Interfaith Maine and interfaith dialogue
since 2001.

Dawud Ummah of Portland is a committed activist and community builder.
A member of the Islamic Society of Portland, he serves as Religious Affairs
Coordinator of the NAACP, Portland Branch, and as Muslim Chaplain at the
University of Southern Maine.
